Miller is Augusta Bound

putt

Eight-year-old Kylie Miller wins the Drive, Chip, and Putt Regional at the famous Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio! By winning 1st place in the girl's 7-9 age division over the weekend, she becomes one of only ten participants in the nation to advance to the Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals on April 2, 2023. This event is held live on ESPN and kickstarts Master's Week in Augusta, Ga. The stored Scioto Country Club has hosted 6 Major Championships and is the home to the "Golden Bear" himself, Jack Nicklaus.

Kylie's overall score was a fantastic total of 110 points to beat her nearest competitor by fifteen points. She peaked at the right time, beating her previous best by sixteen points. Her phenomenal touch around the greens and ability to control her nerves allowed her to excel in both the Chipping and Putting competitions. Kylie took 1st place in the Putting category by a margin of 9 points with a total score of 50, and 1st place in the Chipping competition by a margin of 6 points with a total score of 42.

Kylie stated, "Even though I am not the strongest, biggest, or longest competitor, I believe that I am one of the best in the nation with my short game." That unwavering belief in herself and the ability to excel under pressure has allowed her to accomplish something thousands of kids dream about each year!

Kylie Miller, a 3rd grader at Wingo Elementary, is the only competitor in the state of Kentucky to advance to this year's Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals. She hopes to bring joy and excitement to Western, KY this Spring!
