Horn Named Facilities Director


Richard Horn has been named Facilities Director of Graves County Schools.

Mr. Horn has served the Graves County School District since the fall of 2001, when he was originally hired as an agriculture teacher at Graves County High School.  He taught and also served as Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor before moving into an assistant principal position in July 2019.  Mr. Horn has remained a GCHS assistant principal until transitioning to his new role this summer. 

A graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Education, Mr. Horn continued his graduate-level education at Murray State University.  He completed a Master of Science Degree in Agriculture and an additional Master of Arts in Education Administration.  

He was named Master Teacher and served as a Curriculum for Agriculture Science Education (CASE) consultant from 2009 to 2019.  Over the years, Mr. Horn has built a reputation for going above and beyond his responsibilities to lend a helping hand in multiple departments district-wide.  

Mr. Horn's administrative experience, coupled with his knowledge of facility maintenance, will make him an excellent Facilities Director for Graves County Schools.  He has great attention to detail, and he will strive to maintain and enhance the buildings and grounds of our district,” states Superintendent Matthew Madding.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work alongside the maintenance and custodial staff.  We recognize and highly value our department’s impact on the education of our students,” said Richard Horn.
