When inclement weather or other emergencies cause the Graves County Schools to cancel classes, the announcement will be made through various media, according to transportation director Mark Riley.

Decisions are made as soon as possible, based on administrators’ analysis of current conditions and meteorological forecasts. Riley said he realizes parents need lead time to make alternative arrangements and, therefore, attempts to announce school closings as early as he can on days of questionable weather.

Announcements are posted on the school district’s web site at www.graves.k12.ky.us.
