Morning Announcements Friday, March 19, 2010

1.         **60% of all teen deaths in car accidents are alcohol related. To participate in the FEDS program on March 30, pick up your registration form at the Youth Services Center in the Freshman Hall. Participants will be drawn from the returned forms. FOR SENIORS ONLY.

2.         Lourdes Rising Stars Internship Program is accepting applications now. This is a unique paid position providing career-related experiences in the health-care field. This opportunity is for diverse students, 16 to 18 years old, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. You must be available from July 5-31. If interested, see Mrs. Kaye or Mr. Yates in the Guidance Office TODAY.

3.         Help us, help the environment!  The French Club is still recycling empty inkjet and laser cartridges.  You can place them in Mrs. Parker’s box or call her at 2377 for pick up.  We can also place recycling collection boxes at businesses, schools and churches.  Contact Mrs. Parker at Kelley.parker@graves.kyschools.us for more information.  Thanks for your participation and continued support.

4.         One of the privileges of being on Honor Roll is that students with GOLD CARDS get to line up outside of the cafeteria doors and be first in line on Fridays.  3rd block teachers or 2nd block (if they have 1st lunch) should allow students to leave a couple of minutes early if they have their gold card.

5.         Cuba PTO has softball signup forms at the school for anyone that still wants to sign up.  There is a error in the fees in the previous announcements.  Fees are $30.00 and $25.00 for each additional child.  If you need additional information, call Jill McClain at Cuba Elem. 328-4810 or Tami Willie at 705-3922.

6.         JUNIORS:  Applications are now being accepted for Boys State and Girls State. This is a week long program designed to train Kentucky youth in the fundamentals of good citizenship and governmental operations.  Participants may earn college credit and scholarship opportunities.  See Mrs. Marrs for details about this great summer opportunity.
