The Graves County Schools’ new manager of its Performing Arts Center is Donna Gream. She replaces Donna Davenport, who left the position in August to pursue a post-graduate degree.

The PAC’s opening performance featured Graves County High School students in the spring 2007 edition of Curtain Call, the annual program that combines all the school’s fine arts programs. Since then it has been home to numerous performances of various types showcasing students and others.

“We’re very happy to have Donna Gream manage and lead the PAC,” said Superintendent Pete Galloway. “Her predecessor, Donna Davenport, did a great job of getting the facility up and running and we believe Donna Gream brings a different kind of experience to the job that will complement and build on Donna Davenport’s efforts.”

For years Gream has promoted the arts and entertainment in the Mayfield-Graves County community and its schools. She has presented hands-on theater workshops, contributed in various ways to presenting school plays and spent countless hours assisting in presentations and performances at the PAC. "It‘s my passion!" she explained.

Much of Gream’s volunteer work has entailed “following my daughter through her school years at Symsonia and Central elementary schools and Graves County Middle and High schools,” she said.

She has served as president on the board of directors of the Purchase Players community theater as well as in many other positions with the group over the past thirty years. Those duties have involved directing, acting, producing, marketing and promoting shows.

"I am so excited to be working for a wonderful school district that obviously supports the arts in education and understands its importance,” she said. “I want to continue our Graves County school board's commitment to encouraging music, drama, dance and art within our schools and community. Not only do shows enrich the lives of those who see them, but they provide a tremendous creative outlet for students to discover and develop their own talent! Everybody loves to be entertained and the Performing Arts Center provides a different setting than TV because it includes the excitement of both a live performance and live audience!”

Gream said she enjoyed working with Davenport in recent years and is grateful for the firm foundation her predecessor set on which she now can build. “My ultimate goal is to promote the Graves County Performing Arts Center and to encourage the use of our beautiful facility with, for, and by all ages from pre-school to high school and beyond! We have such an abundance of talent and creativity and a great facility to showcase it!"

Donna Gream’s husband is Rodney Gream. Her daughter, Emily, is a sophomore at Graves County High School.
