Graves High JROTC senior Kaler Luker accepts West Point Military Academy appointment via U.S. Rep. James Comer
Graves County High School senior Kaler Luker poses with his parents, Aaron and Marshea Luker, to his left, and Kentucky First District Congressman James Comer. Comer praised the four-year JROTC cadet, saying he is among only 1,400 students accepted from 14,000 applicants. Luker said he has aspired to serve in the military and to attend West Point throughout his high school years, noting that his father served in the National Guard for more than two decades. The school’s JROTC commander, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jason Caldwell, said Luker already is an excellent military leader and noted the cadet’s desire to serve others.
