normal'>Sedalia Elementary School recently recognized former and current military personnel for Veterans Day. Filling stands in the gymnasium were students, staff, and parents. Veterans attending were seated in chairs on the gym floor. The Graves County High School Army JROTC presented colors. Sedalia students hosted a program in which they explained the meaning of the “Pledge of Allegiance,” led singing of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” sang other patriotic songs, and read pieces they’d written. Then, 2017 Graves County High School graduate and Sedalia Elementary alum Drew Jackson served as guest speaker. He is a paralegal specialist, 21 Delta, in the Kentucky National Guard. “I will be drilling soon in Owensboro. Today, I’m telling the students about my service and plans,” he explained. “I hope to make the National Guard a career.”
